The closing ceremony of S.N. 4 Advance Training on National Security was held at the Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri on 13th March, 2019.
The graduation ceremony of 25th Command & Staff Course was held at Army Command and Staff College, Shivapuri amid a special function on 21st February 2019.
The College is affiliated with the Tribhuwan University (TU). The University provides the Master's Degree in Strategic Studies (MSS) to eligible student officers already having Bachelor's Degree and those who apply and complete the MSS programme. The Command and Staff College has seen nine batches that have received the degree so far. International student officers and the officers from sister organisation are also encouraged to join this programme and would also require to come with necessary mark sheets and certificates including migration certificate to enroll in MSS programme.
Eligible and interested student officers can apply for
MSS degree and their registration is done during their orientation
course. Approximately NRs 9000/- is incurred in the process which needs
to be collected from the students. A letter certifying the expense is
given to the students before their departure. Following documents are
required to join the MSS program.
(a) School Level (or equivalent) - Mark sheet, Transcript.
(b Intermediate Level/Plus2 / higher secondary (or equivalent)- Mark sheet, Transcript, Provisional .
(c) Bachelor / Graduate level Certificate (Mark sheet, Transcript, Provisional )
(d) No objection Letter / Migration certificate.
(e) Certificates must be in English or with valid translation copy.
As per the syllabus prepared by Tribhuwan University, student officers have to pass the following examinations.
(a) First Year. The entrance examination for the Command and Staff Course is considered as the First Year in the MSS. The subjects covered in the following areas:-
(i) Military History and Strategic Thought (Stra. Std. 541).
(ii) Contemporary Security Affairs (Stra. Std. 542)
(iii) Military Operations and Administrative Management (Stra. Std. 543)
(iv) Armed Conflict, Military Appreciation and Plans (Str. Std. 544).
(v) Research Methodology (Stra. Std. 545).
(b) Second Year. The second year examination is conducted during the Fourth Term. All examinations are conducted by the Office of the Controller of Exams, Tribhuwan University. The subjects, which are dovetailed in the course syllabus, cover the following areas:-
(i) National Security and Statecraft (Stra. Std. 546).
(ii) International Relations (Stra. Std. 547)
(iii) Command, Leadership and Resource Management (Stra. Std. 548)
(iv) Military Strategy and Combat Theories (Str. Std. 549).
(v) Thesis (Stra. Std. 550).
